Man, I missed a few days in there. I finally got to go back to school after a few cold days, and I was busy, busy, busy. The #kinderblog challenge prompt for Thursday was to write about our morning routines. Here's mine!
Most mornings I get up at 5:00. Now, this week, I had a difficult time transitioning back into school, so it was more like 5:30/5:45. I immediately hop in the shower. After showering and getting dressed, I head downstairs. I feed the incredibly hungry livestock that call my house their home (translation: my two cats, Molly and Meatball). They yell at me if I don't feed them right away. I'm not even kidding. I think you could hear Meatball meowing from the second floor when he's in the basement. He's loud.
I get my lunch around and make sure my bag is packed for the gym after work. Then, I have a quick breakfast. I'm not a huge breakfast person, especially during the week, so I typically have cereal or toast.
I head back upstairs to finish getting ready. I blow dry my hair and brush my teeth. If I'm feeling the need to look pretty, I'll put on some makeup. I'm a pretty firm believer in dressing for the day I want to have instead of the day that's trying to have me. If I'm feeling stressed or down about something, I wear makeup.
I kiss my husband (who is still soundly sleeping in our warm comfy bed) goodbye and wish him a good day, and then I head for school. I have a 30 minute drive, and I like to spend that time mentally preparing myself for the day. I think about my lesson plans and what I need to be working on with each of my students.
I start my work day around 6:30 each day, which is incredibly ridiculous. I know this. I just like to be prepared for the day.
